Lord’s Feasts (Part 2)

The fall feasts are yet to come. These feasts are about to happen in the near future. The theme of these feasts is as such: Blow and take hid of the trumpet, purify yourself and be ready, for the Lord’s Day is at hand!

  1. Feast of Trumpets (Lev. 23:24): Rapture! “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in the moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 15:51–52). Jewish people celebrate this holiday for two to three days. They have morning and evening services, during which they blow a trumpet, or a shofar, several times per service. The Rapture will happen at the last of these trumpets, during this feast. The final trumpet will be determined by God.

Application: We are to blow a trumpet by letting others know of the imminent return of Christ and pay attention to the sound of the shofar by preparing to meet Him (Joel 2:1, 15). The Lord warned us that, at a time we are not expecting, He will come. We live during the days when the Rapture can occur at any time. For we live in a fragile vessel, which is subject to be broken in the time we least expect. It is wise to be ready all the time, because every soul may experience the last trumpet at a time it is not expecting. We live at times when calamities will be increasing and taking the lives of many.

  1. Feast of Atonement (Lev. 23:27): The Messiah’s second coming! “And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south” (Zech. 14:4). This feast will come to completion at the time of the battle of Armageddon (Rev. 14:18 –20; 19:11–21; Zech. 14:1–6; 12:10–14). I believe the Church will be coming with Jesus in the host of saints (Zech. 14:5) and witnessing the spiritual battle of Jesus and the Beast. It means the Rapture will take place sometime prior to the Battle of Armageddon. During the feast of Atonement, Jewish people abstain from water and all food as a fast for at least twenty-five hours. They don’t bath, comb their hair, brush their teeth, or wear any makeup until the fast is over. This way they demonstrate their sackcloth state of repentance and humbleness before God. They lament, repent, and confess their trespasses (Joel 2:12–15). They also dress up in white clothes for their synagogue service to symbolize the purity of an angel, a saint, or a bride as she prepares for the groom (Joel 2:16).

Application: The Feast of Atonement reminds us to prepare our robes pure and white as snow for the Lord’s wedding by analyzing our life in the light of Scripture and correcting our standing through confession, repentance, and watchfulness. It calls for serious examination through prayer and fasting. We must call out to God to prepare us for His return and the Rapture and also deliver us from hardships that will be ever increasing upon the earth from this time forth (Joel 2:17).

7.  Feast of Tabernacles (Lev. 23:34): The Messiah’s millennial reign or the Day of the Lord (Zech. 14:6–21)! “The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15, HCSB) Jesus, His Bride, and the remnant of Israel will reign for one thousand years. After the millennium, the Church will continue into eternity with the Lord. Earth and all the works on it will burn, and the final judgement will take place (Rev. 20–22). At this feast, the Jewish people make tents to symbolize the entrance and the acceptance into the kingdom of God, or Heaven. Think of the parable of the ten virgins. Five unwise virgins were left behind the doors and didn’t enter the presence of the Groom (Mt. 25:1–13).

Application: Our readiness and faithfulness will determine where we will be at the time of the Lord’s reign on Earth and eternity. One must be raptured or, if left behind, persevere in faithfulness and abstain from the mark of the Beast. People who are left behind at the Rapture will endure the last and great tribulation. God will purge the land right after the battle of Armageddon. People whose names are written in the Book of Life have the guarantee of eternal heaven (Rev. 20:15).

According to the order of the Lord’s feasts, the Rapture is the next huge event that will happen in the history of the Church and humankind. It is wise from now on to be ready for the Rapture. I couldn’t find any proof of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, because we have already lived through most of the Tribulation. Half of Revelation has already come to pass. The six angels have blown their trumpets. Also, Revelation 12:1–5 suggests the Rapture is at hand: “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne” (Rev. 12:5, KJV) “Her child” symbolizes Jesus’ Church and Bride, which is His body, and it will be caught up to God’s throne or raptured!

I also find that our current president, Donald Trump, is endowed with a unique name for these days. The Feast of Trumpets and the Rapture go hand in hand. The president’s name is one more way to remind us to be ready, because the trump of the Rapture is approaching fast: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thess. 4:16–17, KJV). “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Cor. 15:52, KJV).

By bringing up the name of President Trump, I am not promoting or condoning his position as president. I only suggest that the president of such a powerful country as the United States has the name “Trump,” as if used by God as one more way to show His people around the world the approaching perfect storm and climax of the last few days before the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The USA is a country that doesn’t escape any nation’s news or spotlight.
